Avalon Teaching Farm is your place for learning and doing. horsemanship, learning how to raise livestock, raising livestock and gardening on shared space, and home study support is here for you in northwest Vermont.
Winter weather is here and another year without an indoor learning space. So, I created a GoFundMe page. I hate asking for help, but I have to remember we do all this for the kids, and families. See the widget below.

Hands-on-Horsemanship Program to keep horses in our lives when footing is not safe for riding.
Horsemanship Book Club will be starting up again after the holidays!
Horsemanship Mini Camp learning days during vacations. We offer a day here and there to get kids moving, keep horses in their minds, and hopefully learn a little something!
Horsemanship Lessons for all ages and all levels including: horseback riding, care, handling, showing, careers, and more!
Horsemanship Show Team Avalon does horse shows like no other farm. This is a true team sport and everyone from non-riders to new riders through experienced riders are welcome!
Summer Camps a limited number of camps will be offered summer of 2026. Information will be available early 2026. Discounts available for registering early, with a friend, and more!
Rent-a-Hen packages will be available for pre-order for 2026 in early February, 2026
Farm Fresh Chicken Fresh chickens will be available several times in 2026. Help raise them for a discount! Cornish Cross in July and September, Rangers are in limited supply nationally, but we have a small number coming for pick up in October!
Pork pre-order Four pig halves are available end of 2025. These are mixed heritage/production breeds
Animal Husbandry classes for many types of livestock for many purposes: poultry, sheep, beef, Pigs, horses
Home Study Support - For 15 years, Avalon was a Vermont Recognized independent school serving students in grades 4 through 12. We now offer home school support from curriculum support to actual tutoring or meeting with others to share ideas, all subjects, not just animal and farm related.
